I was enjoying great Thanksgiving Day feast with the family and friends, when I heard news of more layoffs by the thousands. Normally, I tune out most bad news (an act of self /sanity preservation). But, this news came from my own circle of friends and family, so I listened carefully. That is when it hit me.
The keys to our success and prosperity here in the US has always been LONG-TERM VISION, FREE MARKETS and BIG THINKING. Long-term vision allowed us to outlast, out-think and out-perform our competition regardless of who it was. Now, it seems we have a deadly outbreak of short-term thinking from coast to coast. Why else would great companies layoff the talent they trained to be integral to their success by the thousands?
Okay, so the election is over and we are in store for more of the same. The stock market has returned to its rising and prosperity has once again resumed. Or, has it? Millions of business professionals everywhere are back to focusing on their goals again. This is terrific because building and growing their businesses helps all of us and the economy heal. This is exactly what strengthens America. With a millionaire's mindset, this economic downturn is also a marvelous opportunity in disguise for those with long-term vision and patience.
You wouldn't believe the terrific bargains out there now in Real Estate! You also wouldn't believe the wonderful deals to be had in the business for sale arena too. Honestly, opportunity IS still everywhere here in the USA. You just have to be thinking right to perceive it (adjust your reticular activating system).
If you are in business, this is when market share can be can be had because your competitors are at their most vulnerable and credit is still tight nationwide. If your business decides to seize this moment to achieve double-digit growth in market share... Good for you! If your business wants to streamline, automate and modernize to become more cost efficient over the next decade... Good for you. If your business wants to overcome some IT bottlenecks, system reliability issues and upgrade your legacy software... Good for you.
Every single month when ownership, executives and managers invest in their business and hire more employees to expand, prosperity increases for all of us. Every time a consumer decides to buy "made in the USA" at the supermarket, department store/Internet or car/truck dealership our prosperity increases. When you decide to use a human cashier, bank teller or customer service agent versus an automated machinery you have become part of the solution.
Sure, I thank God for all the wonderful blessings he has bestowed upon me every single day. However, today I urge you to become an activist for the economic recovery, job creation and help us to rescue the American way of life.
I say this because automation, outsourcing of American jobs by heartless corporations and hundreds of thousands of layoffs a month strike at the very heart of the American economy daily. Meanwhile, politicians remain apathetic and ignore their responsibility to lead, find solutions and produce results. Of course, this is nothing new, Government cannot ever fix our economy. As evidenced by the last 235 years here in America, Capitalism still beats Socialism hands down ten times out of ten.
It is high time for each of us to become a Catalyst for Capitalism, Freedom and the American way of life. Make sure that every dollar you spend puts Americans back to work (try the local Farmers' Market for the freshest fruits and vegetables). Insist on doing business with banks, insurance companies and investment brokers that employ customer service representatives in the USA.
I promise together, all of us can become the solution. Thank you for all your support. Remember, the job you save may be your own.
By the way, the new Motor Trend Car of the Year is the Tesla Model S (all American made electric sports car) and it performs better than your dream car and is an affordable $49,900. The Car and Driver magazine reviews are terrific too. Tesla is a company we need to support for sure. Bravo Tesla!
