This is because there is a massive glut of talent for employers to select from, thus they insist on hiring only the top 1-5% of candidates period. Therefore, my best advice is to forget about focusing on lowest price when you shop and concentrate on maximum value. This is a service industry that will never be commoditized because smart people know results matter most. Further, if they do shop for lowest price dismal results will educate them pronto. In life, you generally get what you pay for.

There are millions part-time hacks out there pretending to be professional resume writers, most of them are actually located in foreign countries. That's why they advertise very low prices, deliver subpar work (not native American English speakers) and you will be unable get a refund.
