Replace Depression with Happiness and Find Employment Fast!

I guarantee that these natural treatments to treat depression work for 95% of professionals because of my own research, experience and feedback from many friends, colleagues, readers and clients. When you follow this advice and return to your natural state, your self love, prosperity and happiness will increase. By combining these strategies, your results will be much better than any single treatment/action ever will. Trust me, I survived all those long dark winters up in New England with seasonal affective disorder (SAD) from lack of sunlight before I moved back to sunny Dallas, Texas in February 2014. Here is what I recommend to banish depression naturally, so you can enjoy happiness, family, friends, prosperity and find employment fast.
Type up your most important life goals, put them in a highly visible spot and start working towards them every single day. Every mind needs a positive purpose to focus on and everyone thrives on achievement. Choose a career/profession that is fulfilling, emotionally rewarding and pays you well enough to give you the ability to thrive. Not all of us can follow our passions and make a career of them. Still, anyone who supports their family and provides for their retirement can be mighty proud because that alone is a marvelous accomplishment. Irrefutable fact: Living a purposeful life is essential to happiness!
Niacin or Niacinmide (no flush niacin) - A deficiency in this B vitamin often results in depression. Take 2500 mg/day to treat depression, later increase or decrease if needed. Buy flush free niacin aka niacinmide for best results because sometimes the face flushing can be intense. Many prescription, over-the-counter drugs and even caffeine destroy B vitamins and the probiotics in your gut, so people are deficient in niacin, B-vitamins and serotonin. I have researched this extensively. Niacin/B-3 is 100% safe (all niacinmide is no flush niacin), tested for decades and nontoxic. Several people I know have had great results with this proven natural remedy for depression, nervous breakdowns, suicidal thoughts and alcoholism. There is absolutely no need for Rx drugs with this natural remedy, so you're free of all the negative side effects of these Rx drugs as well. If depression ever reoccurs Niacin will immediately remedy the situation, but remember to layoff drugs, chemicals, caffeine and artificial sweeteners to keep your nutrient levels and all that friendly gut bacteria in the normal range.
The amino acid Tryptophan is a great help when taken before bedtime and it promotes a deep sleep, human growth hormone and serotonin production. Your body, mind and soul are rejuvenated when you have enough sleep. Note: You cannot take this in the day time/during working hours/if driving or operating heavy machinery because it promotes sound sleep. However, a big bonus of L-Tryptophan is that it also facilitates the release of growth hormone while you sleep so you will benefit with an increased metabolism that will burn fat easier, better exercise performance, easier recovery from exercise, increased sex hormone production, more energy and you will notice you will look younger after one month of use if you are over 45-50 years old.
The trace mineral Lithium is often deficient in people with depression, panic attacks and anxiety (filtered water is so common today and it filters out trace minerals from spring water. Lithium Orotate is a miraculous mineral supplement, it's very affordable and it's not to be confused with the Rx drug lithium carbonate (1000 mg/1 gram). Lithium orotate (10-20 mg) supplementation corrects a common deficiency. In doing so it helps blood sugar levels, brain performance, elevates mood, and student/ professional (work) performance. A high-quality multi-vitamin multi-mineral formula will also help improve results.
Expose your skin to lots of natural sunlight for natural vitamin D without sunscreen and take 5000 units of vitamin D-3 during the whole winter/anytime you are without sunshine. Start with small doses and build up your tan. Attractive tans are universal indicators of radiant health. Most folks today are severely deficient in vitamin D, which contributes greatly to health, wellness and happiness. Sunscreen blocks the most beneficial UVA rays from the sun, which halts vitamin D production and slathers your skin with toxic chemicals. This is one reason why cancer and depression have proliferated since 1990. Megadoses of vitamin D-3 is time tested and proven to help depression, diabetes, nerve related issues, dementia and obesity/overweight. That said, exposure to sunshine is by far the healthiest source of D-vitamins and it's free. Avoid sunscreens and tanning lotions because they are full of toxic chemicals that are absorbed into the body. Opt for hats and more clothing if/when necessary.
Regular exercise is ABSOLUTELY essential to your overall health, wellness and happiness and it's more effective than any antidepressant pharmaceutical drug. Make your exercise fun so you will be more consistent as this alone can treat depression. The easiest way to be consistent with your daily exercise plan is to do a variety of activities. Run with your dog M-W-F, lift weights at the gym on T-Th-Sat then make your Sunday exercise fun first and exercise second like a game of tennis, soccer, basketball, or a long bike ride with friends.
Start a natural raw food diet/lifestyle based on fresh organic vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts. Avoid all processed foods, drugs, white flour, sugar and alcohol. This diet dramatically improves mood for the vast majority of humans because this what God instructed us to eat in the Bible. Do some research on this subject ASAP (read these books - "Nature’s First Law: The Raw-Food Diet" and "The Raw Cure"). If needed, you can gradually transition to 100% raw food by becoming a vegetarian. Eat a balanced amount of greens, fruits and healthy plant fats (avocados, olives, nuts & seeds). This will safely detoxify your entire body and slim you down.
Avoid the mainstream media/news, avoid TV, radio and print news. Develop the action habit by working towards your goals. Reconnect with family and friends. This will be very rewarding. Anyone who has watch horror movies, the prolific violence and drug use on TV or worked for the CIA will tell you that television programming has content and frequencies designed to down grade human intellect and increase fear and submission.
Make a conscious decision every day to radiate happiness, sunshine and good cheer upon waking then follow through on it. Squeeze in some fun every day. Dogs are wonderful companions and give plenty of unconditional love. Visit your local animal shelter and rescue a dog today if you can afford it and give them a good home.
Change your thinking and change your life. However, recognize that knowing is not enough, you must believe it enough to take consistent action towards happiness and fulfillment. “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Gandhi
Practice grounding by either walking, sitting, laying or standing barefoot on the ground so you can receive the electrical energy of the earth. This will flood your body with the earth's electrical energy, halt inflammation and renew your youth. The main idea here is that your skin should be in contact with the earth or the water (oceans, seas, lakes, rivers and streams as often as possible for optimum health. The earth's energy is very healing and every wild animal, bird and fish benefits from this. So, why should we be left out?
Avoid all the following "foods": Caffeine, Sugar, High-Fructose Corn Syrup, all man-made Sugar Substitutes (chemicals), all Drugs (Rx medications included), High-Stress Environments, Processed Food (loaded with chemicals that endanger your health), Water with Fluoride and Chlorine, Pesticides, Herbicides (Roundup) Rx Drug Runoff etc. One of the known side effects of Aspartame for example is depression.
Add more healthy probiotics (helpful bacteria) and bitter foods to your diet with kefir (fermented milk yogurt smoothie), fermented vegetables (make your own, it's so easy with step by step how to videos on YouTube.com), homemade coleslaw (raw cabbage is loaded with probiotics naturally), homemade sauerkraut (bitter and loaded with probiotics), put kale and dandelion leaves in your smoothies (healthy greens and bitter), add baby kale and dandelion leaves to your salads, drink a big glass of water mixed with the juice of one fresh lemon first thing in the morning on an empty stomach (vitamins, minerals and detoxifying = awesome!). Bitter foods, garlic and wormwood tincture repel parasites and force them to leave the body. Since 99% of the population is infected with parasites here in the US, bitter foods and garlic must be on your grocery list.
One pre-biotic (food for good bacteria)/resistant starch/fiber is MIRACULOUSLY HEALTHY and uplifting -- Psyllium Seed Husks have soluble and insoluble that friendly gut bacteria love to eat. When you feed your friendly bacteria, they will overwhelm all the bad bacteria in your gut, which in turn will eliminate constipation/irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), detoxify you, help you slim down and restore you to RADIANT HEALTH and HAPPINESS. Simply add two tablespoons per day to juice, water, oatmeal, protein shakes or healthy smoothies. Psyllium Seed Husks are available from Swanson Vitamins - 16 ounce bag for $5.99 and that's dirt cheap for a miracle medicine food. Note: Two-Three bowel movements per day will restore you to excellent health, detoxify you, improve your skin/looks and help slim you down. Toxemia (too many toxins/chemicals is another root cause for depression of course so Psyllium Seed Husks, exercise, sunshine/Vitamin D-3 and No-Flush Niacin/Niacinamide are literally worth their weight in gold to anyone struggling with depression.
Inulin is a natural fiber that friendly bacteria eat and thrive on. Inulin is found in the 100% edible pineapple core, asparagus spears, green bananas, stevia (a natural green plant that's a great sugar substitute with no insulin response), leeks, onions, garlic, dandelion root, sprouted wheat grass and alfalfa grass. Inulin encourages good bacteria to colonize vs. pass on through to the other side. Thus, a diet rich in inulin (ideally raw) guarantees that you will have plenty of good bacteria and good bacteria is the backbone of your immune system, produces serotonin (a feel good organic chemical) in your intestines and keeps you regular vs. overloaded with toxins when you have clogged pipes. Conversely, sugar, sweet foods, high-fructose corn syrup feed the bad bacteria, candida (yeast), fungi, parasites and cancer cells in your body.
Avoid the low-carb diets as these often result in a depressed mood. Have a full cup of whole grain brown rice at least twice a week to keep up production of your neurotransmitter serotonin, which helps you maintain happiness. If you cannot handle the Raw Food diet or 90% Raw Foods then I recommend the Paleo Diet or Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s Eat to Live diet (both strictly rule out processed and GMO foods), because you can still eat fruits, which help cleanse and detoxify the body. Both will definitely help keep you at a healthy weight and are loaded with nutrition. However, the raw food lifestyle is the most natural and it will enhance your mood and health right away. If you must go low carb, make 100% sure you exercise regularly and eat your veggies.
Avoid the Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) grain like corn, wheat, soybeans, soybean oil etc. Monsanto and others have wreaked havoc on our food supply with genetic modification and by adding deadly herbicides into food crops. The side effects are so numerous, significant and troubling that after years of research into this topic, I know GMO grains torpedo your health. Stick with organic if you must eat a small amount of grains. Whenever you eat GMO grains with the Roundup herbicide those toxins cause your intestinal bacteria to produce toxins every day thereafter. Thus, depression and ill health are bound to result. So, I urge you to stop shopping for low prices at the supermarket and start shopping for optimum health instead.
CBD Oil aka Cannabis Oil/Full Spectrum Hemp Oil extracted from hemp plants contains cannabinoids that are proven to banish depression in just one or two days because they stimulate the release of our happy brain chemicals that improve significantly, serotonin and dopamine. Thus, depression, anxiety and pain are noticeably reduced/eliminated. CBD oil is generally considered safe as a food/nutritional supplement, so much so that over 80,000 doctors are licensed to prescribe CBD oil/Cannabis Oil across the pond in the EU and UK. Fringe benefits: better sleep, reduced inflammation, diabetes prevention and easier fat burning. For more info on CBD oil read this insightful article: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/cbd-oil-benefits#section7
Exercise your generosity muscles and heart by helping others in need. “God gave us two hands, one to help ourselves and one to help others...” Eleanor Roosevelt.
Get back to church every Sunday, renew your faith in God, give thanks and pray every day. Attend church so you have uplifting friends with faith, God’s grace and support from the community. Remain on a righteous path. Remember there is no scarcity or lack on the divine plane. “Seek and you will find. Ask and you will receive. Knock and the door shall be opened.” Jesus Christ
Live with an attitude of gratitude every day. Be truly thankful for all your many blessings and focus on them. Look to the poor, sick and disabled and think of how lucky you are. Count your blessings every day.
Find Christopher Larson’s original “The Optimist’s Creed” from 1912 and adopt this lifestyle. These are some of the finest words ever written.
The practice of taking cold showers/cold baths or swims regularly shocks your system, facilitates deep breathing and great blood circulation, and triggers system-wide focus/excitement. Frankly, it makes you feel ALIVE instantly. It's true what they say, a cold shower a day keeps the doctor away. The cold is so powerful because it triggers and awakens the whole body. Depression will be history when you get your heart/blood pumping through miles and miles of your arteries, veins and capillaries. One cold shower per day ENERGIZES YOUR ENTIRE BODY. This is of course exactly the way, God intended us to bath/swim to flush away stress, worries, insomnia and get energized. If cold stresses you out, you have low energy and/or minimal fitness start your cold shower routine by starting with luke warm water in the shower, and then gradually make it colder over 3-5 minutes. You will soon realize cold showers/baths/swims are God's gift and the way it should be.
While you are in a job search your happiness/mental health is of paramount importance. Take the time and effort to take care of yourself because you deserve to be healthy and happy. Once your brain fog and depression are gone and your brain is turned on again, you will naturally be more cheery, feel energized and be ready to sell yourself in job interviews and excel in your job search. (Now that you know this, it's your Christian duty to like and share this on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to help others in need.)

Guarantee Yourself a Raise or Promotion With These Clever Strategies and Avoid Job Hopping
By Darrell DiZoglio, CPRW at http://RighteousResumes.com Copyright 10/7/2016 All Rights Reserved.
Demonstrating loyalty to your employers is a big deal because your work history is disclosed on your résumé and Linkedin profile. Potential employers will use this to judge you. Loyalty is an admirable trait and employers prefer it 10 to one over candidates who have frequent job changes aka job hoppers. An employer will read between the lines on a job hopper's work history and deduce that they are either hard to please, negative thinkers or have a serious lack social skills. Therefore, I will always recommend that you stick with your employer as long as it remains a positive situation for you. I was promoted or offered promotions dozens of times during my career. In the following quote, "by the yard" refers to a job search and "by the inch" refers to an internal raise or promotion: "Success by the yard is hard, but success by the inch is a cinch."
Here are my most recommended strategies to earn a raise or promotion:
- Cultivate or Demonstrate effective leadership skills by volunteering for local nonprofits and community service organizations. What local Children's Hospital wouldn't want your help on their next major fundraising project? Wouldn't your boss be impressed if you happened to be a volunteer at the same nonprofit he does and he happened to bump into you next Saturday? Now you would both have something in common. Next thing you know, you're working together on the same team one Saturday a month. What a great way to showcase your skills, determination and winning attitude.
- Keep leveraging your strengths and avoid assignments/roles that primarily focus on one of your weaknesses. Efficiency matters! It takes exceptional work/results to be noticed enough to earn a promotion today so toiling in an area you do not perform well is not going to help you much. This is especially true when your competition for that promotion is shining in the spotlight while working within their field of expertise.
- Keep one eye on the internal job postings because your Supervisors/HR Director/HR Manager might not have enough free time to focus on helping you execute on your career goals. Understand that it is always your job to have your replacement trained and ready, before you receive your promotion.
- Always have your finest résumé and Linkedin profile ready to represent you for that promotion/raise in advance because opportunities always find those who are already prepared. "Victory Loves Preparation." Originally a Latin proverb, Amat victoria curam. By preparing in advance, you have trained your brain to focus on achieving this promotion. The divine power of your subconscious mind and your brain's Reticular Activating System is amazing! Dr. Wayne Dyer taught us that "The energy flows where the attention goes." Why waste the excellent opportunities you worked so hard for with an average/subpar résumé? Why waste a golden opportunity by creating a resume focused on mere responsibilities?
- Keep a career journal/evidence file and update it every month with the most impressive achievements, awards, contributions, results and recognition. Employers are always looking for justification for a raise/promotion and when you can supply it, you make their decision much easier and strengthen your case simultaneously.
- Exceed expectations – Everyone works for a living, yet few exceed expectations. It is ideal to work in a field that you are passionate about even if it is just one-step of many to your dream job.
- Demonstrate effective social skills, professionalism and an above average emotional IQ. Hiring managers and executives know that you must to fit in socially and work well with your new team, so impress them by being a consummate team player and build your professional network so when you need help someday you will have a support system to rely on.
- Recommendation Letters/Linkedin Recommendations – Once you are performing well enough to earn recommendation letters, you want to start collecting some to help you advance within your organization. News Flash: The source of these recommendation letters is tremendously important because a Hiring Manager/Executive will judge their credibility. Normally, if you exceed expectations at work you can earn recommendation letters from: Customers/Clients, Past and present Supervisors, business partners, industry experts and others that you have worked with and people who you impressed with results, who have read your writing/publications or listened to your public speaking.
- Make your case with visual aids like charts and graphs using your employer’s key performance metrics because graphics normally impress and make you more memorable, since most do not take the time to do this.
- Write a win-win proposal with the all the practical details and tell them what you will do once you are promoted/given a raise. This technique is especially helpful when you are trying to advance into management or advance to the next level. A classy written proposal is not confrontational, demonstrates respect for your Superior’s time and it will often be forwarded to other managers/executives/HR managers for official approval, which is great publicity for you within the organization.
- Look and act the part – Dress as if you already had the management/executive/dream job you are targeting. Make sure your Linkedin profile is dignified and professional. Know that your Linkedin profile and résumé must score in the top ten percent of all other candidates. Today, perception is often reality. Cover for key employees when they are on vacation to display your abilities and enthusiasm.
- Add value to you by improving your expertise, learning a new language and/or adding skills with great online resources like Lynda.com and VTC.com (software training websites I highly recommend). You will be surprised to learn how much free training material there is on YouTube.com. Try searching for SalesForce.com training videos there. Many will come up in the search engine results and they are all free to view too.
Business lunches are also a magnificent opportunity to mix and mingle with other top performers, experts, hiring managers and executives in other departments/divisions. What if you learn about one key strategy or skill that could help you advance your career just by being friendly and listening? What if you could find out about one of your employer’s most pressing problems and contribute towards solving it before it was even announced? What if you found out one of your employer's Supervisors or Executives needs a new golf partner? You can do that and much more just by inviting someone else at work to go out for a business lunch once a week.
Your career advancement ladder is really a series of small steps/strategic relationships that only you can establish and strengthen. The bottom line here is that you have to think big enough and think long-term enough to realize that these minor investments will work wonders for your career, if you can execute on them. Yes, the magic is in the execution. If you would just turn off the TV/video games, take a break from the office gossip, wasted time on Facebook and end negative thinking/self-talk, I am sure that having the discipline to substitute these more constructive activities will allow you to reap the rewards you seek.
In the last two decades, employers across the U.S. have worked long and hard to make certain their employees are as productive as possible. They have employed business consultants, efficiency experts and industrial engineers in an effort to improve production and/or lower labor costs. While they have succeed in improving productivity, a typical workday is now more taxing than ever before. Employers have replaced as many hard working professionals with automation, software, talent from overseas and robotics as possible in an effort to increase profits. Therefore, if you are still securely employed you can be sure that you are an essential part of your employer’s team of professionals and your work is appreciated.

The #1 Résumé Writing Application of 2016 Revealed!
By Darrell DiZoglio, CPRW of http://RighteousResumes.com Copyright 7/25/2016 all rights reserved.
After extensive research, feedback from clients, testing, borrowing software, purchases and free trial downloads the following products were examined and tested: Microsoft Word, Corel WordPerfect, the Amazing Résumé Creator, Résumé Maker Professional and Ultimate, Optimal Résumé Builder, Easy Job Résumé Creator Pro, WinWay Résumé Deluxe, Résumé Builder and Power Résumés. This year's winner was chosen based solely on serving as the most helpful application for résumé creation, editing and proofreading (not other bonus content widely available on the Internet).
Microsoft, an industry titan with unlimited resources has produced a word-processing program called Microsoft Word software since 1990. Unfortunately, I found Microsoft 365's version of Word to be significantly less helpful and less user friendly than my Word 2010 application that was included with Microsoft Office Professional 2010. However, Word and WordPerfect finished with very high scores in all categories. I will insist on Microsoft Office Professional from now on. In the final analysis, despite significant setbacks in efficiency, ease of use and productivity vs. previous editions, I have found Microsoft Word 2016 in Office 365/Office 2016 Professional to be the most helpful résumé writing application currently available in the USA. The desktop publishing capabilities are marvelous and presentation is a big part of creating a fine resume too. It certainly helps that many employers demand that you submit your career documents as MS Word or PDF files.
Please note that the English language with all its subtle nuances is so complex that the spelling and grammar checker in Microsoft Word will only catch about 47% of all errors when compared to expert human editors/proofreaders. It also merely indicates possible errors, which means it still relies exclusively on human expertise or more research by users to make the final decisions. Further, the success rate mentioned above drops significantly for niche professionals like Doctors, Nurses, Scientists, Human Resource Managers, Software Developers, IT professionals, Engineers etc. because each profession and industry has its own jargon, abbreviations and acronyms (aka keywords). This is especially true for people in International Business, immigrants and non-native English speakers because often they have no idea which one of the four options presented by spelling/grammar checker is correct. Automated spell checkers are nearly useless with many of the most common errors such as all data containing numbers, homonyms, logical errors, proper names, foreign words, industry-specific jargon, most syntax errors, weak writing, ambiguous writing and long-winded writing.
Another big problem with resume writing software and automated spell checkers is that many people without excellent English writing, editing and proofreading skills think that any word or phrase identified as a possible error is an error. As a result, they often create additional errors by assuming the software is always right. Clearly, a significant fault in the programming here is the assumption that expert editing and proofreading skills are common, when in fact they are not. Most college graduates still write at the tenth grade level. But, there is no doubt for those that know how to write, edit and proofread well, Microsoft Word is ranked #1 and Corel WordPerfect is ranked #2 for best résumé writing application of 2016.
The sad truth about résumé writing software/online resume builders is that they produce dreary, weak and ordinary resumes where excellence must be the #1 goal for every candidate. This glaring weakness is only revealed to unsuspecting consumers when they experience rejection after rejection (silent phone) for months or when they carefully read the guarantee details, terms of service or try to get a refund (good luck with that). Even worse, it is painfully obvious that the software development is almost always outsourced offshore to save on costs since the documents produced are merely generic typed work histories.
Professional writers, editors and proofreaders are quickly able to recognize the myriad of performance limitations of résumé writing programs and spelling and grammar checkers. To start with, you still do all the writing, editing and proofreading yourself (ironically) even after you paid the software to do it. LoL! Despite all the hard-sell marketing and advertising on the package/online, no Artificial Intelligence is ever included with your purchase. How can so many professionals can be gullible enough to believe that hard-sell advertising copy on all the online résumé builder websites out there?
Always remember: 1. Your résumé and Linkedin profile will always be the most valuable documents you own. Treat them as such. 2. You always get what you pay for in life. So focus on value, instead of always searching for the lowest price. Results matter! 3. Employers have two standards for résumés excellent and not good enough. Once you are unemployed, would you prefer a job search of 7-90 days with an excellent résumé or 12-18 months with an okay résumé? In both cases, your savings will be diminished by the cost of your total monthly living expenses times the number of months in your job search. Thus, for an average professional with a $48,000 per year income this translates to: Would you prefer a $1500-$12,000 loss or a $48,000-$72,000 loss from your savings/retirement account while you are job hunting and unemployed? Now that you have seen the numbers to illustrate the financial consequences of unemployment, which type of career document saves you the most money and costs you the least, an excellent résumé or a weak typed work history?
The good news is many Certified Professional Résumé Writers (CPRWs), like myself still offer free resume reviews via email and these critiques are normally quite helpful. Even in 2016, no software application is a viable alternative to a Certified Professional Résumé Writer/Editor. I am referring to experienced professionals, managers and executives here, because hiring a professional requires an investment. Résumé writing involves marketing, selling, research, finding evidence, understanding industry jargon/acronyms, desktop publishing for attractive styling, building value, including relevant keywords (SEO), expert writing, editing, proofreading and catering to hiring managers' needs. There is a huge difference between generating a type-written work history and a creating a powerful résumé that performs well enough for you find employment fast. Yes, you will need to avoid cheap and fast typists and all online résumé builders because you must generate enough interviews to be hired.
The best CPRWs always rely on in-depth personal interview that is focused on helping a candidate achieve a specific career goal/s. We take weaknesses, strengths, accomplishments, market demand, challenges and preferred industries into account to produce superior career documents (résumés, cover letters and Linkedin profiles). Questionnaires are not helpful enough because unless your résumé places in the top 5% of all résumés submitted, it will fail to generate enough job interviews. You have fierce competition. In the US today, there are 75 million people currently unemployed or underemployed. Most of these people with a decent income will hire the best professional writing and editing assistance they can afford and their career documents will be compared with yours side by side. Therefore, you must act accordingly!

WHY YOUR LOCATION MATTERS TO HIRING MANAGERS…
By Darrell Z. DiZoglio, CPRW of http://RighteousResumes.com Copyright 7/23/2014 all rights reserved.
Because I spent most of my life and many years recently as a Hiring Manager/Recruiter, Certified Professional Résumé Writer and Career Coach. I can verify that your location is important to employers. They focus on it for several reasons. First, if you are far enough away that you will have to relocate to work for a new employer they know that only 50% of all new hires that require a relocation actually show up to work on day one. They also know that most of those that require relocation and do work out benefited from company paid relocation packages (typically reserved for management and key employees). Second, they also know that when any candidate planning to move for employment at their own expense receives a few estimates from moving companies on a cross-country relocation, the staggering costs normally lead to accepting a local employer's offer.
The third and most common reason your location matters to an employer trying to recruit you is that, every employer has a maximum acceptable commuting distance in mind. This is especially important in areas with 3-6 months of cold wintery weather. Snow, sleet and freezing rain often make a normal commute slow and hazardous. Back when I commuted from Providence, RI to Boston, RI by car, a normal one-hour commute often turned into 2 or 3 hours (each way). Therefore, whenever I hired someone I wanted to make sure it was realistic to rely on them, especially during the winter (November 15 to March 30) in Boston, MA. Personally, I could not handle the endless accidents, delays and stress of my winter commute from Providence, RI to Boston, MA. Even in the summer, there was always road construction, repaving and road painting delays. Eventually, I ended up moving to Boston, MA and what a relief it was too.
Still, unbelievably every month I have people in remote locations, poor locations and blighted locations (little to no employment opportunity) like Rhode Island send me their excellent résumé for review via email after they have had few if any interviews and remained unemployed for 12-24 months. I am obligated to tell them when their résumé and Linkedin profile are stellar as is (not the issue). Next, I check out their location, e.g. Silver City, New Mexico – remote, low population density and most of the major employers in the state are in the education field, which means a graduate degree is required. The 6.6% unemployment rate in NM does not matter much, if the employers are 2-3 hours away in Tucson, AZ or Albuquerque, NM. Thanks to advanced Boolean search technology, they are not looking at your résumé, nor would they have hired you anyway (with that long of a commute).
Therefore, if you are located outside of a one-hour commuting range most hiring managers will prefer similar candidates that already live close by. Their job normally depends on the performance of their employees. Telecommuting is the exception to the hire local talent first rule. Telecommuting jobs are more common today, however not every employer is fond of the idea of virtual employees. Sales oriented organizations often hire sales talent with the idea of allowing them to work from their home office because they save on office space, PCs, phone bills, office supplies, HVAC etc. while benefiting from a productive sales force (no daily commute keeps them fresh).
As a veteran hiring manager, I can tell you every time I made an exception for a terrific employee that lived too far away, I regretted it. The patience and excuses quickly run out for both of us and normally the candidate quits to avoid a termination on their record. The bottom line is performance and return on investment are the only reasons employees are hired. Local candidates have far better attendance records and are normally punctual, which leads to better performance. Case closed. As a hiring manager, my thought is if you were serious about moving to Boston, MA to work for me, wouldn't you be here already? (After all, if I did not hire you 150 others would be more likely to do so.)
Thus, if you are close to a major metropolitan area with plenty of employers always make sure your full local address is included prominently on your résumé and cover letter. If you are in a less desirable location further away from most employers, try to target the better employers close to you or move to a better location if you cannot find telecommuting work. Obviously, work from home jobs are not for everyone but you would be surprised at the staggering number of careers for virtual employees today.

Faith Determines Your Success or Failure in Life…
By Darrell DiZoglio, CPRW at http://RighteousResumes.com Copyright 4/11/2013 All rights reserved
For some unknown reason, some folks never think about this and go through life undecided. Unlike college or graduate school, in life you do not ever have to declare a major. However, certainly having goals and a direction in life is a major help. This is why children often idolize their parents and heroes from sports, school or their community. They learn by modeling others. However, this is this is even more important than choosing an idol. Ultimately, the definitive choice that determines one's success or failure in life is whether you decide to be a victim or a victor.
As we face the realities of life, we learn that luck does not always go our way at times. Sometimes that luck also comes in streaks, so we should to look to our faith in God and commit to trusting in him. This is commonly referred to as being able to "let go and let God." All Christians, Catholics, Jews and Muslims (etc.) need to make the choice of whether to live life as a victim or a victor. Victims are often paralyzed by fear, slowed by being timid and tend to give up on goals much faster.
It is a fact that people of faith, persist longer than those without faith. Their trust in God enables them to persevere. A favorite quote of mine illustrates this well, "Effort only releases that reward when a person refuses to quit." Faith strengthens the heart, body and mind. When you are surrounded by people cursing the darkness, you can light a candle.
"When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." Harriet B. Stowe. People of faith know that FEAR is merely False Evidence Appearing Real.
God did not create you to be a weak worm of the dust. He made you his highest creation on purpose. Clearly, we can choose to live life as a victor anytime. Victors focus on the good in life and make things happen by being constructive. Victors fall down seven times and stand up eight. Winners produce and producers win. Focus on it.
Anthony Robbins taught me to "Live my life as if I could not fail…" when I was younger. Believe me, action is the only antidote to despair. That solution starts with halting the negative data flow from the mass media. Then programming your mind positively to think like a VICTOR instead of a victim. Do this by asking appropriate questions of yourself by writing them down on paper and posting them where you will read them often so your powerful subconscious mind will work on them and deliver a solution for you.
What empowering and constructive activity could you focus on instead of having a pity party?
How can you invest in your future success to make things happen?
What bad habits and time wasting activities will you delete from your daily routine?
What 2 or 3 small steps can you take that will equal one big step towards your goals?
If change happens at the speed of thought, what is stopping you?
How can you sidestep, drive over or demolish that obstacle so it is only a speed bump?
What breakthrough actions can you take to lift yourself up to the next level?

TECHNOLOGY MAKES RÉSUMÉS DISAPPEAR EVERY DAY?
By Darrell DiZoglio, CPRW of http://RighteousResumes.com Copyright 11/7/2014
Unfortunately, for many job searchers today, technology does kill their message/résumé in several ways. Much of this boils down to the fact that in most medium to larger companies resume screening is now fully automated, except for the final candidates who earn interviews. This is a shame since so many fine candidates are completely unaware that the rules of the game have changed (they often only do what worked for them 7-10 years ago).
1. Infographic résumés often lack keywords, functionality and a clear message, so they
either remain a mystery to most employers and/or stuck in databases unseen by human
eyeballs.
2. A fine resume without the right keywords is useless because it is never pulled up from
the employer's database.
3. Generic résumés suffer the same fate! Targeting works 10 times better.
4. I have folks send me their 25-minute video résumé to review and find out they do not
have a text-based resume at all. Hiring managers are very busy people, thus I do not
recommend video résumés! At least give them the option of scanning your résumé and
cover letter first to see if they want to learn more via the video.
5. Did you know that employers' résumé and cover letter submission and their emails often
have file size limits? (Read their instructions and follow them.)
6. All too often, job searchers fail to identify which job/s they are targeting. Trust me the
employer's ESP is not as good as you have heard.
7. You can often include both a PDF and Word file résumé when sending via email.
8. If you can only include one resume when submitting directly to the employer, first
follow their instructions on PDF or Word file. If none, send them a PDF file as it is
universally compatible and prints perfectly on all printers (WYSIWYG).
9. When submitting to recruiters via website or email, they want your MS Word file so
they can erase your contact info up top easily and replace it with theirs before
forwarding it to the employer.
10. Remember to include a cover letter when submitting your resume online or via email,
because this shows you have the ideal qualifications, desire and personal attributes.
11. There are several fonts that are not readable by machines yet, ditch the fancy-smancy
fonts in favor of the tried and true.
These are just some ways technology kills your message and sets back your job search. There is actually more. This is a great start though. The plain truth is just posting your résumé online is not good enough anymore. This is not the booming economy we all knew and loved. Now, you must go on the offensive. That means creating your own opportunities through professional networking and sending out introductory cover letters and résumés to ideal employers. If you have the job hunter blues, action is the antidote.
